Game Trail Cameras Capture Plasma???

I came across these articles recently and the pictures reminded me of Anthony Peratt's work. I'm not sure if the pictures are authentic but they definitely caught my attention.

Has anyone checked these cameras for internal reflection from the photo flash plasma firing?

It could be simply a spiderweb in front the camera with dew on it , reflecting the flash.
