Reliable Measurement of Cosmological Distance

Unread post by cechapman » Wed Mar 21, 2018 11:03 am

Hello,

I read and watched the material regarding why red shift is not a reliable machinist to measure distance. My question is if not that, is there a reliable mechanism? Specifically, how do we know how far stars, galaxies, and other objects are in relationship to Earth?

Thx,

Chris
