Call for Proposal: Galaxy Zoo wants a new idea!

Many Internet forums have carried discussion of the Electric Universe hypothesis. Much of that discussion has added more confusion than clarity, due to common misunderstandings of the electrical principles. Here we invite participants to discuss their experiences and to summarize questions that have yet to be answered.

Call for Proposal: Galaxy Zoo wants a new idea!

Unread post by CCCstar » Fri Jul 08, 2011 9:56 am

We thought that you'd want to know that
we've opened the doors of the Zooniverse to researchers from all over
the world, via an open call for proposals, generously supported by the
Alfred P. Sloan foundation.
from http://www.citizensciencealliance.org/proposals.html Submit by August 15 for review in September 2011

Here is another possibility for FREE EXPOSURE of the EU from a recognized source. I don't have an idea yet  Perhaps YOU do??
The challenge is to propose a concept that would pass the consensus review and support the EU position. :!:

The "zoo" continues be a source of "meditation" for me as I learn the ropes of astronomy. I am not an astronomer by training, so I can recommend to you the exercise of categorizing a couple of thousand galaxy images in the galaxy zoo. Just make a user login and run thru the process for a few evenings. http://www.galaxyzoo.org/classify

There is also a concise description of the "consensus" view of galactic astronomy.

Example: TLPs or Lunar Swirls

Unread post by CCCstar » Fri Jul 08, 2011 12:20 pm

Just for an example of something that could cross over:

This forum "Electric Moon" thread has a good collection of notes on Transient Lunar Phenomena but some of the links are now stale. Perhaps the "Moon Zoo" project can provide some way to survey for the effects called TLPs.
http://thunderbolts.info/wp/forum/phpBB3/v ... =429#p3756

There is already a moon zoo "project" thread with some info on Lunar Swirls. They sure look like shallow patterns of the same electric machining seen in the Thunderbolts video "The lightning scarred plane Mars"! There is this article with an overlay of the EM field.
http://science.nasa.gov/science-news/sc ... narswirls/
(The image is a "must see" with the two layer current pattern seen in the Mars video. Scroll down to the part "A magnetic map of Reiner Gamma")

And the zoo has this project: http://forum.moonzoo.org/index.php?topic=270.0
and says
Each swirl site is believed to sit over a local magnetic field that sets up a mini- magnetosphere, strong enough to deflect at least some solar wind particles and reduce space weathering of the soil. The latest theory is that electric fields above the lunar surface help to sweep the surface clean of charged dust particles. It would be interesting to identify new candidate sites and to see what different sizes they come in, where they are located, are any in highland areas, and also to monitor them at different times to see if changes in dust deposits can be observed.
So it seems the "zoo folk" are interested in how electric phenomena shape the moon, and if we propose something from the zoo there would be possibility of followup observations from amateur community of astronomers.
