The Secret to Human Regeneration
I stumbled onto this hugely interesting article about Michel Levin of Tufts University who has been studying limb regeneration and related matters. His approach is very much from an EU perspective (although I doubt he knows it). He has had some amazing success by manipulating cell electrical properties. It sounds like he is really onto something.
He would be a great candidate to be a speaker at an EU conference.

It's a very long article, mostly a human interest story about Levin himself. He sounds like the type of out of the box thinker that, when their success and numbers grow, will break the mechanical universe paradigm. The embedded video showing the electrical patterning of a frog's face on cells BEFORE THE FACE HAS FORMED is just amazing.

What a great find Oliver:

...we are pursuing, at a molecular level, the roles of endogenous voltages, pH gradients, and ion fluxes as epigenetic carriers of morphological information. ...
This will lead to tensegrity ( alas no junglelord ), acupuncture meridians, and kundalini channels. Enormously exciting. Just do yourselves a favour and spend some time wandering through this neat site.
Cheers,
Mo

Indeed, an interesting site! http://ase.tufts.edu/biology/labs/levin ... patial.htm
morphogenetic processes (bioinformatics of shape, beyond gene/protein sequence, and automated model discovery), (2) testing the hypothesis that cell behavior can be understood as the segregation and movement of cell states through a multi-dimensional state space with axes defined by bioelectrical parameters such as membrane voltage, K+ content, pH, nuclear membrane potential, etc., and (3) developing quantitative models integrating physiology and genetics of ion transporter function during early left-right asymmetry.
"shape, beyond gene/protein sequence"
A local field, derived from to epigenetic carriers of morphological information.
Thanks, moses
