Political context of Electric Universe science

What is a human being? What is life? Can science give us reliable answers to such questions? The electricity of life. The meaning of human consciousness. Are we alone? Are the traditional contests between science and religion still relevant? Does the word "spirit" still hold meaning today?

Political context of Electric Universe science

Unread post by Phorce » Sun Apr 23, 2017 6:19 am

Hi. I have followed the EU history of the various eminent academics over the years who refute EU and go on about pseudoscience and so forth. I think everyone knows the track record. That is important, but academia and science does not exist in isolation from the rest of the world. If you are on either side of the fence, Left or Right, I think you would have to have been living in some remote part of the world not to be aware of the political outrage caused by the election of Donald Trump in the United States. His history is a long one as are the controversies of the Hilary Clinton campaign, but what we're seeing is a big shake out of the political establishment and of, the bane of EU science, ... Political Correctness. Look at what has been going on at the various University campuses in the states. Frightening levels of PC and stifling of debate. This is of course exactly what we've seen levelled at EU. What I think is going on is a massive shift occurring. This could only happen after a period of ~25 years of recovery after the end of the Cold War. That little number - where we came to the edge of total annihilation a few times - was so huge that there had to be a period of recovery after such a thing. Meanwhile the Left - Socialism & Marxism - marched on as if their great project, the Soviet Union - had never fallen. That then developed into a socialist obsession with Islamic terrorists, that the world is now waking up to, as the stifling influence of PC fades.

In this political context EU sits. People are looking for new things. Future science indeed. The Left and Socialism are falling after they failed to destroy their arch enemy, Capitalism. It is Capitalism and world markets that will eventually find Electric Universe science once the stifling effects of the Left and socialism/marxism have waned. The Left & especially Marxists see any potential economy boosting or technology benefits of EU as an "evil" that would only make the rich richer and the poor poorer. Conservatism proves that this is in fact not the case. Capitalism creates rich people but actually benefits everyone. As has been proved over the last 200 years, every socialist experiment has failed (look at Venezuela at the moment for example).

The effect of politics on EU is as equally important as stifling academics in their ivory towers.
Exploration and discovery without honest investigation of "extraordinary" results leads to a Double Bind (Bateson, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_bind ) that creates loss of hope and depression. No more Double Binds !

This goes against the forum guidelines IMO.
The discussion of political and religious matters is to be discouraged, except when clearly relevant to the discussion in progress.

Thread Locked.
We all have political opinions to varying degrees. However, this is not the venue for such discussions. There are plenty of internet sites devoted to discussion and debate over politics.

It is agreed that there is some subject overlap or gray area.
For instance, the topic of "Climate Change" or as it used to be called, "Global Warming."
That is a highly charged political issue. As a topic on this forum, discussions of Climate Change/Global Warming should be limited to facts, observations, experiments, and discussion of theories. In other words, it should have a scientific context.
Hope that clarifies things.
Anyone interested in further explanation can contact me via PM.
