New Kid-on-the-block TPOD inspired question

Hundreds of TPODs have been published since the summer of 2004. In particular, we invite discussion of present and recent TPODs, perhaps with additional links to earlier TPOD pages. Suggestions for future pages will be welcome. Effective TPOD drafts will be MORE than welcome and could be your opportunity to become a more active part of the Thunderbolts team.

New Kid-on-the-block TPOD inspired question

Unread post by stickwhistler » Fri Sep 23, 2011 12:30 am

Quote from TPOD New Kid-on-the-block http://www.thunderbolts.info/wp/2011/09 ... the-block/
by Stephen Smith.

"When a star’s double layer explodes, the electrical energy from its connection to a vast stellar circuit flows into the explosion. The resulting supernova radiation is emitted across the entire electromagnetic spectrum from radio to gamma rays. The unexplained “standard candle” attribute of type 1a supernovae has, at last, a plausible explanation in terms of a star’s electrical environment rather than an implausible sudden collapse of a star."

This sounds very similar to the description of a breakdown of a double sheath leading to a solar flare & CME.
Thinking about similarities over orders of magnitude, is a supernova really a super solar flare/CME?

2nd question : If there were planets within that stars heliosphere, might (if they had one) their
own magnetic field deflect the 'charge' around them similar to our own planet does to energies from
our sun - or would they turn crispy?

The Great Dog thinks they are all examples of lightning discharges at different scales.
