Newbie to EU
Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum after having rediscovered the electric universe theory. I read about it briefly in the past, but didn't think much of it, until recently when I was discussing how the universe was created with someone and I was taking a more conventional view, and the person I was discussing it with suggested that I read up on the EU.
I've looked around at a couple websites, and I find that most will explain what conventional physics thinks is happening, then it will say a word like plasmoid as the alternative theory, without much explanation of what a plasmoid is. I only have a basic understanding of physics, meaning I've taken 2 introductory physics courses for my degree(which isn't in physics, but in computing science). Although it's not my primary focus, how the universe works has always been of interest to me, especially when combining it with spirituality. For personal reasons involving experiences where I've seen things which later found out to be explained by Gnosticism, I primarily have a Gnostic view of creation. As someone who believes in what are considered radical ideas, I am quite open to the possibility of an electric universe.
First of all I was wondering if anyone knew of any really informative introductory videos to the EU model that describe everything in a way that can be understood by a non-engineer/physicist. I've found it hard to find a good one. If there aren't any really out there, then instead, or as well, I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions for what topics I could look into that would help for a good base before understanding the EU. For example should I be looking into cosmology, quantum physics, or electrical engineering etc...?
Secondly, I have a few questions regarding spirituality and the EU for any theist EU theorists out there, along with some more science based ones.
In the EU, what could spirit and soul be? I see soul as the vehicle that gives spirit form and allows interaction with the universe, and spirit as containing your consciousness, and body as an extension of the soul(mainly a gnostic view for the body part). In conventional physics, extra dimensions can explain hidden aspects such as soul and spirit as being made of matter and/or forces that is hidden from our dimension. Which leads to my next question.
I've read that the EU doesn't require extra dimensions, but would extra dimensions be compatible with the EU? Sure it may explain the 3rd dimension well enough to not require them, but could particles in a different spectrum of vibration or frequency be possible?
Is the Eu theory compatible with multiple universes? Usually multiple universes are used to explain black holes as being where all the matter ends up, so without black holes it seems as though they are no longer required.
How are bosons & fermions related to the EU theory? Does EU completly get rid of w/z bosons, gluons & gravitons? And are fermions such as quarks still the particles that protons and such are composed of? If they are, does EU offer and explanation to why they exist, or did those fields just always exist along the the universe?
And for my last question, I've found a website where the creators of it believe egyptian gods were actually explanations of different EU components by looking at the individual hieroglyphs that make up the depicting of the gods in a different way. Is there any other myths that appear to be connected to the EU?
I'm not exactly expecting one person to answer all my questions, but even if I could be pointed in the right direction, that would be greatly appreciated. Also, sorry for the lengthy post, as I said I'm quite new to EU and it's is something that I am quite curious about.

Hi Blazeshock,
I find that your religious view is close to mine. Religious discussion is not allowed, however philosophy of various kinds is allowed in the New Ideas and Mad Ideas section, definitely not here in the Electric Universe section.
Extra dimensions don't make much difference to EU, but the mathematics is annoying. I personally consider extra dimensions likely.
If you like Egypt then I recommend Gary Gilligan's site:
http://www.gks.uk.com/about/
That will take you deep into the EU theory that all was very electrical in the ancient past. Some feel that just about all myths have an electrical origin.
Hope that you enjoy your time here.
Cheers,
Mo

Thanks for the reply, I wasn't aware of the restriction on religion in this section. I'll definitely take my questions regarding spirit and such over there.
Everyone likes an easy answer, I'm not much of a mathematician, but I do hope the ones who enjoy complicated finds some sort of breakthrough to do with EU and dimensions because I would be much more likely to adopt it as a view of the universe if extra dimensions were included.

In terms of a short video introduction to Birkeland's work in solar physics, I'd recommend this video:Blazeshock wrote: First of all I was wondering if anyone knew of any really informative introductory videos to the EU model that describe everything in a way that can be understood by a non-engineer/physicist. Not only did Birkeland "predict" the existence of coronal heating, he simulated the process in the lab, and showed how his cathode solar model fully explains the Earth's aurora. Keep in mind that Birkeland added an electromagnet in the core of his solar terella, not just the planetary terella. By doing so he was able to reproduce coronal loops that are concentrated in bands near the equator, cathode rays from the sun, polar jets, discharges in solar flares and many other processes which have since been verified by satellites in space.
If you're interested in discussing those types of ideas, you might might start that part of the conversation here:Secondly, I have a few questions regarding spirituality and the EU for any theist EU theorists out there, along with some more science based ones.

Keep in mind that EU/PC theory stands on it's own empirical merits without any type of religious overtones of any sort. The moment we start debating it's relationship to various theistic/atheist beliefs, we're essentially stepping beyond the "science" side of the debate, and this forum is pretty much devoted to the purely scientific aspects of cosmology.

Hi Blazeshock, I am glad you have found interest in the EU. It is certainly the only model out there that has any common sense. To get some worthwhile knowledge of the EU, I would really recommend looking at Wal Thornhill's site ,www.holoscience.com. It has a very good synopsis that explains everything you would need to know about the electric universe. Wal Thornhill is one the principle motivators of the EU, and a very able scientist.
Being a Gnostic, I can understand your question about the spiritual values of the EU. I can assure you that there are no worries. Electricity and plasma are connected to many facets of natural organisms and the natural world. They are like the basic ingredients of the material world. Even our bodies are electric organisms and would not survive without electricity. So electricity and plasma constitute the material side of our lives, whereas emotions, feelings, consciousness etc. are the spiritual side. Amazingly electricity has a part to play with these attributes as well. It has even been theorized that electromagnetism combines with what are called scalar waves. Scalar waves are what is thought to be in the background of the spiritual side of our lives. I am not an expert on these topics but I would recommend you read some of Rupert Sheldrake's papers, who is a very able biologist and a believer in the creator. He is a very modern thinker who has developed theories on a wide range of topics including Angels. He has given talks at the EU conference in Pheonix, Arizona and you will find him in the Wikipedia. Unfortunately some darker forces of the human race are trying to shoot him down, but that is another story.
All the best with your research.
