Helicon Double Layers - Need Help!!

Trying to prove/disprove a theory with a Pulsed Plasma Thruster that i am working on, however i need some help understanding double layers.

Simply put i create a plasma between two electrode parallel plates by shorting out a capacitor in a vacuum enviroment 1x10-6 mbar. I get a current ringing effect, with a peak current of about 5kA. Is there anyway of calculating the potential drop across a double layer if it was created in the plasma and if so how?

Any help understanding this problem would be apprecitted.
