DAVE SMITH TO PRESENT THE ELECTRIC UNIVERSE LIVE

Unread post by David Talbott » Fri Aug 06, 2010 7:06 pm

Saturday morning (US time), Dave Smith will present "An Introduction to Electric Universe Theory," in conjunction with the Natural Philosophy Alliance. Dave is the managing editor of the Thunderblog page at Thunderbolts.info and has facilitated extensive liaison with scientists and others interested in the Electric Universe hypothesis.

The presentation will last two hours and will include plenty of time for questions and answers.

There are no special requirements or downloads needed to attend the conference, which is free and open to all. A live "chat" (keyboard style) will run concurrently with the presentation, and all attendees can use this function to pose questions or offer comments.

Those who have headsets with a microphone will be able to speak directly to both the presenter and audience during the Q&A phase.

FACT SHEET:

When: Saturday, August 07, 7:00am US Pacific Time.
(New York, 10.00am; Sydney, midnight August 07/08)

Where: Just go to http://live.worldsci.org about 10 minutes before start time, to ensure a place. Places will be limited to the first 100 attendees. Once at the conference 'room' (this is an automatic process, room name is "dehilster"), just enter your name in the box and click OK, and you'll be in.

First come first served, so don't be late!

ABSTRACT:

The Standard Model of Cosmology is the name given to the generally accepted theory of the Universe, its origins, and the way it works. The model relies heavily on a hypothesized “Big Bang”, along with Einstein’s relativistic theories of gravity and light. For many decades scientific critics have raised objections to the Standard Model. It is often suggested that standard cosmology has replaced empirical evidence with mathematical abstractions that almost no one understands. This presentation will introduce participants to a well-researched alternative - Electric Universe theory. For this introduction, the presentation will be broad in scope and limited in technical detail, but will offer numerous pointers to the groundbreaking work of others in this field.

That was a great introduction and speech. Thanks all!

Thanks guys, and thanks to all those who from this forum who attended, we broke all previous records for NPA video conferences, and all of the comments and questions seemed very supportive.

Apologies to those who posed questions and comments in the live chat who didn't have them addressed, it's very hard to watch the chat window when you're the one giving the presentation! But I do intend to download the chat history and go through it to make sure we address the serious questions which were missed.

A special thanks to Dave Talbott and Don Scott, who both attended and offered their support, and Dave also made sure the attendance was good by 'advertising' it in the thunderbolts newsletter.

All in all, I think the presentation was very well received, and it was a whole bunch of fun doing it!

Cheers, Dave Smith.

David Smith:

Thanks so much for the presentation. It was a pleasure to have you and the Thunderbolt people during our Saturday video conference sessions.

Some things...

1) A recording of David Smith's talk can be found at:

http://www.worldsci.org/php/index.php?t ... c_Universe

2) We welcome anyone interested in having a profile in the database. We have a specific topic area for the Electric Universe in the database at:

http://www.worldsci.org/php/index.php?t ... c_Universe

3) We invite anyone in the area to talk more on the EU. You can contact Greg Volk at greg@worldsci.org to set up a time to talk.

4) The EU people can use the DimDim video conferencing service for their own video conferences. The service is available 24 / 7. Lets talk about setting up the EU's own talks.

Thanks so much again and hope to see more EU in our database and at our video conferences both attending and giving talks!

Cheers,

-David de Hilster

Hi Dave,
Really enjoyed the presentation - two hours well spent. I was familiar with most of the material but it's nice to have it all under one roof. Extra point awarded for the aluminum/aluminium comment. :D
Get working on the follow-up.
One criticism - you need to sort out the coffee situation, life's too short for cold coffee. ;)
Good stuff.
