Based on the recent papers by the PSP folks, I'd say that the current state of astronomy is simply abysmal. It's like watching Ptolemy proponents extol the virtues of Ptolemy. Everything that astronomers don't actually "understand" is chalked up to magic magnetism, or some new mysterious form of matter or energy. The PSP papers were an eye opener IMO. They demonstrate that even when the electric and magnetic field data is staring them in the face, they refuse to embrace electricity at all costs. The whole "magnetic switchback" nonsense is quite telling. They're just making it up as they go and only to avoid dealing with current in plasma.

Think about the solar wind for a moment. It's charged particles in (fast) motion, including so called "strahl" (faster electrons). The obvious thing about moving charged particles is that it's a form of "current". Instead of going with the "obvious" explanation for basic current carrying plasma behaviors, they're inventing new "magnetic" thingies rather than to deal with electrical current logically.

It's bad enough that cosmology today is in such sorry shape, but even solar physics "experts" are so messed up it's not even funny. There's literally nothing about astronomy today that's worth the paper it's printed on. Even the 03 LIGO run has been a complete disaster. Over 50 supposed GW signals, with three detectors for better triangulation capability, and yet there's not a single additional example of multimessenger astronomy has been observed in 03. It's just sad to watch all this wasted money and effort. The PSP gear is even a great physical piece of hardware, but it's information is literally wasted on the so called "experts". They don't have the first clue how to properly interpret any of the data.
