Electricity and Plasma, from Micro to Macro and Beyond...

Unread post by MGmirkin » Thu May 22, 2008 4:30 pm

The ultimate goal of this thread is to outline as many natural electric / plasma processes (and a few related theories) from the small scale to the large scale as possible (a few might be slightly more speculative than others), so we can see the varying interwoven, and interconnected processes going on. I'd like to keep it somewhat organized. So, I think I'll section it into several pieces, to make it more manageable...

Section1: The Microscopic Domain.
Section 2: The Macroscopic Domain.
Section 3: The Solar Domain.
Section 4: The Galactic Domain.
Section 5: The Universal Domain.
Section 6: The Biological Domain. (Added by private request.)

I may update these posts (adding links or resources) from time to time, as new info becomes available.

Cheers,

No, I'm a Cylon (or maybe a human-form Replicator? Perhaps Borg?), and my brain is fighting off power failure... :x

But other'n that, I'm a pretty nice guy. :D

Slowly but surely... It's coming along. Spent pretty much all night workin' on this. Still have a bit to do on it, but I think we're on the home stretch. For now, I'm fading, and need to catch a couple hours sleep...

And a good chunk of today has gone by in the search for "completion"...

In the spirit of creating the world's largest plasma links thread, how about http://www.mysterious-america.net/ufoplasmascondig.html; a plasma solution to the popular "flying saucer" mystery? Like the EU, plasma UAPs are ready to spring into the mainstream and replace a myth based on 30's sci-fi (and updated with 50's sci-fi) with a mysterious, but entirely natural, phenomenon.

I hesitate to get into UFOlogy, especially where I can't seem to find a reliable site that discusses the topic or links to a copy of the ACTUAL report... I see lots of second hand info, but nothing leading back to the primary source report. The closest to something with journalistic integrity I've seen so far is:

(Unidentified Atmospheric Phenomena - Seeing the light)
http://www.forteantimes.com/features/ar ... omena.html

I tend to prefer relatively well-sourced materials from mainstream press releases, news sites, etc. Something about "passing the 'stink test'." IE, non-controversial enough or well-researched enough to make it into the mainstream press or journal articles / papers... You'll see that a good majority of what I've listed above falls into that category. The Condign report might be better served with a separate thread discussing it in Planetary Science. I think I'll fork this discussion over there, so long as it stays on topic. If more mainstream sources or the original source reports come to light I may include those in the "Macroscopic Domain" section (above). Once a sufficient volume of mainstream thought / reporting on the issue is available.

Let me provide that. I would consider (conspiracy theories aside) The British Ministry of Defence a good source and the document is written under both a Secret and Top Secret clearance. Here's the link to these original documents, much of which I've read (and summarized in my blog and plasma page). This came about from a FOIA request and made a small splash in the mainstream media:

http://www.mod.uk/DefenceInternet/Freed ... ummary.htm

Thanks for considering it~! The thing to read is the Executive Summary. I can point you to where any actual conclusions of interest reside in this 400 page document.

Cheers mate,
Faderbaby
