Hi Carel - looks like it would fit the loose criteria. This thread was not mine, I have only recovered it from the old crashed forum. It was originally started by "lk" (see near top of 1st post i.e. OP = "lk"). I just quickly glanced at the table of contents and placed it on the list under "Aether."

Scientists versus Big Bang

Unread post by Lloyd » Wed May 21, 2008 8:56 am

This link http://s8int.com/bigbang2.html is to a letter to the scientific community asking for fairness to alternative theories to the Big Bang. I don't know if this forum has already discussed this anywhere, or if it's already somewhere on this thread, but it seems worth listing here as a resource. The letter has an excellent proposal for how to achieve fairness in science, using juries of educated people, such as engineers and those in the humanities, to help decide what studies are funded and published. The letter is signed by many scientists. Wal Thornhill is quoted and it says the letter was published in New Scientist in 2004. Further pages on the site include articles that give evidence against the Big Bang.

Has anyone seen the site http://www.thesurfaceofthesun.com/index.htmlyet?

The site is run by Michael Mozina, and he states flat out amongst his many (rather amazing, actually) graphics from the Sun that he strongly suspects EU cosmology is correct, based upon his observations.

* Mike, Mozina is a member of this forum. He used to post quite a bit on the original forum in 2007, but he's only posted once on the new forum, at least under his own name. That post is here: http://thunderbolts.info/wp/forum/phpBB3/v ... 569#p17569. He may be in communication with some of our members. He may also be on Oliver Manuel's new forum, which was announced here: http://thunderbolts.info/wp/forum/phpBB3/v ... =10&t=2590.

There is one URL that I didn't see and I think is of at least historical importance. That is http://www.jmcanneyscience.com . Professor Macanney was a pioneer in the electric comet theory over 30 years ago! He had access to NASA deep space probe data while teaching at Cornell. His conclusions and subsequent publication of his findings earned him the Boot! I think it only fitting to give credit where credit is due!

hi hgodlewski,
There has been a contentious history between James McCanney and the EU/Thunderbolts.
James McCanney's comet theory bears little or no resemblance to the description of the electric comet in the Electric Universe. The adjective "electric" aside, I believe that McCanney has theorized that comets are in the process of accreting material on their way to becoming planets...this of course is pretty much the opposite of the description of comets that we find on the various thunderbolts sites.
Also, the link that you posted does not take me to McCanney's website.
Try this:

I understand that the theories McCanney espouse may not totally line up with the Electric Universe model. However, we can’t afford to be like the proverbial three blind men examining the elephant. It’s more then a snake, or a rope, or a tree trunk. Quite likely both the “Thunderbolts” community and McCanney are seeing the same phenomena from different perspectives. The gulf really isn’t very wide when compared to the current mainstream view in the astronomical community. The main stream made the same mistake in jumping the gun with gravitational explanations for the observed phenomena. These were fine until data massively indicated otherwise. Good science examines all alternatives in an unbiased light and allows the data to speak for itself. Paradigms are important; but, should be held loosely.

On another note, a recent article in Sky&Telescope for March 2010 speaks of cosmic jets. Unfortunately the authors inevitably attribute them to gravity. In fact, they have gravitational effects generating electricity that in turn drives the jets, in stark disagreement with the laws of electromagnetics. Any convolution to save a sacred paradigm I guess. It makes me wonder if these so called Astrophysicists know any physics at all!

Just for the record, a little background on mine. I’m a graduate professional electrical engineer with almost 40 years of experience, most of which are in electromgnetics engineering. I also have the equivalent course work of undergrads in both physics and math (engineering pays better!). I’m also an avid amateur astronomer. It amazes me at the vast majority of professional astronomers that have never looked through a telescope!

I am a bit concerned that apparently the EU community doesn’t yet have a cohesive theory of the impact of electromagnetic forces on celestial mechanics. It seems absurd that a force that is 10 to the 48th times stronger than gravity wouldn’t have significant impact on celestial bodies, particularly outside an equilibrium state.

hgodlewski,

You should be a very valuable member of our community with your experience and education. One of the main obstacles to becoming better thought of is the present lack of a theory supported well by underlying math. As noted today under another subject here, we are still very much in the beginning stages, with a lot more verbal and text descriptions than a coherent theory with a related mathematical structure (unless you read in dusty plasma physics and Peratt's textbook). In particular we have been focused more on the cosmic picture and far less on the sub-atomic world, particularly the sub-electron and sub-proton and -neutron scales.

You might like to read Miles Mathis's page http://www.milesmathis.com , particularly his papers on his Unified Field Theory which alleges how gravity and electromagnetism essentially are the same thing at different scales, based on the form of both Newton's gravitational equation for 'ponderous' bodies and Coulomb's Law for charged bodies, with both being inversely proportional to distance squared and having as a scaling constant either G or the dielectric constant ε, respectively. While Mathis is a theoretician in the area of mathematical physics (and a pretty good Romantic artist for his day job), he does one thing that is extremely rare for theoreticians — he looks at real world phenomena and tries to make his theory and math fit observation. He, like many here, is a little on the alternative theory side compared to mainstream ideas, but by golly he's interesting! —And occasionally plausible. By the way, Mathis is not an adherent of EU ideas, in particular; he pretty much goes his own way. He's just released a nice little collection of his papers, self=published, at authorhouse.com, search for him by name.

Read around on the Forum for a few weeks and look at all the pointers and papers and other sources that you can, and see if you'd be able to help, and would like to. We're a tolerant and eclectic bunch, usually polite, and value the type of input and comment as you should be able to present.

He's just released a nice little collection of his papers, self-published, at authorhouse.com, search for him by name.

Read around on the Forum for a few weeks and look at all the pointers and papers and other sources that you can, and see if you'd be able to help, and would like to. We're a tolerant and eclectic bunch, usually polite, and value the type of input and comment as you should be able to present.

Hello Hgodlewski: The best site for details and math concerning EU is http://www.electric-cosmos.org/ , IMO. If you're already familiar, i apologize. Dr. Scott's book "The Electric Sky" is a must read.
