Paris, exhibition of aboriginal art with plasma patterns

Unread post by Holger Isenberg » Sun Jan 06, 2013 2:30 pm

While visiting Paris last week I came by the Musée du quai Branly which has indigenous art in its main exhibition shown in a newly in 2006 erected architectural quite interesting building with its organic flowing style in the inside. But the really great part was the special temporary exhibition of Australian Aboriginal art!

Their paintings on wooden war shields show the famous plasma patterns.

THE SOURCES OF ABORIGINE PAINTING

FROM OCTOBER 9, 2012 TO SUNDAY JANUARY 20, 2013

The exhibition presents for the first time in Europe a major artistic movement, born in 1971-1972 in the community of Papunya, at the heart of the central Australian desert.

Taking photographs in that special exibition is forbidden, only allowed in the permanent collection (without any EE releveant stuff there). Metro line 9, station "Léna", then go over the foot-bridge "Passarelle Debilly" to the museum.

The plasma figures are shown in this official video near runtime minute 1:00:
