Matter accumulation in a z-pinch...

Many Internet forums have carried discussion of the Electric Universe hypothesis. Much of that discussion has added more confusion than clarity, due to common misunderstandings of the electrical principles. Here we invite participants to discuss their experiences and to summarize questions that have yet to be answered.

Is it possible to accumulate matter in a continuous pinch via Marklund convection?

How could a pinch be continuous, at least beyond a few days? Wouldn't it have to be galaxy-sized or greater? Otherwise, it certainly seems true that matter is concentrated via Marklund convection, which, it seems, is essentially like lightning. Matter is removed from the surroundings and concentrated along the channel or axis. Isn't that about right?
