Bio-Plasma Physics Anyone?

Hundreds of TPODs have been published since the summer of 2004. In particular, we invite discussion of present and recent TPODs, perhaps with additional links to earlier TPOD pages. Suggestions for future pages will be welcome. Effective TPOD drafts will be MORE than welcome and could be your opportunity to become a more active part of the Thunderbolts team.

Bio-Plasma Physics Anyone?

(Bio-plasma Physics Anyone? Mar 18, 2008)

Irving Langmuir coined the word "plasma" to refer to an ionized gas, because the way in which the electrified fluid carries ions and electrons reminded him of how blood plasma carries red and white corpuscles.

(Nano-sized voltmeter measures electric fields deep within cells)
http://www.physorg.com/news115650653.html

One might also be tempted to point out the above recent article where it's revealed:
With a diameter of about 30 nanometers, the spherical device is 1,000-fold smaller than existing voltmeters, Kopelman said. It is a photonic instrument, meaning that it uses light to do its work, rather than the electrons that electronic devices employ.

[...]

With the new approach, the researchers don't simply insert a single voltmeter; they're able to deploy thousands of voltmeters at once, spread throughout the cell. Each unit is a single nano-particle that contains voltage-sensitive dyes. When stimulated with blue light, the dyes emit red and green light, and the ratio of red to green corresponds to the strength of the electric field in the area of interest.

Tyner's measurements revealed surprisingly high electric fields in cytosol—the jellylike material that makes up most of a cell's interior.

"The standard paradigm has been that there are zero electric fields in cytosol," Kopelman said, "but all of the 13 regions we measured had high electric field strengthas high as 15 million volts per meter." In comparison, the electrical field strength inside a typical home is five to 10 volts per meter; directly under a power transmission line, it's 10,000 volts per meter.
To repeat, field strength in a typical home is 5-10 volts/meter, under a power transmission line is roughly 10,000 volts/meter, in cellular cytosol is as high as a staggering 15,000,000 volts/meter!

One might also be tempted to delve into the archived "Electroreception" thread from the "Thunderbolts Forum 1.0" to suss out these rather interesting related links, with respect to bio-electro-plasma-physics:

Perhaps a little off-topic with relation to space, but still all quite interesting from an electro-biology point of view.

And of course there's Becker & Selden's books The Body Electric and Cross Currents. Both are quite interesting!

Hello.

When I read this TPod I immediately thought of the Emerald Tablet. As above so below! If Isaac Newton was want to think highly of it, worth a read ehh?

The Emerald Tablet of Hermes

True, without error, certain and most true: that which is above is as that which is below, and that which is below is as that which is above, to perform the miracles of the One Thing.

And as all things were from One, by the meditation of One, so from this One Thing come all things by adaptation. Its father is the Sun, its mother is the Moon, the wind carried it in its belly, the nurse thereof is the Earth.

It is the father of all perfection and the consummation of the whole world. Its power is integral if it be turned to Earth.

Thou shalt separate the Earth from the Fire, the subtle from the coarse, gently and with much ingenuity. It ascends from Earth to heaven and descends again to Earth, and receives the power of the superiors and the inferiors.

Thus thou hast the glory of the whole world; therefore let all obscurity flee before thee. This is the strong fortitude of all fortitude, overcoming every subtle and penetrating every solid thing. Thus the world was created. Hence are all wonderful adaptations, of which this is the manner.

Therefore am I called Hermes the Thrice Great, having the three parts of the philosophy of the whole world. That is finished which I have to say concerning the operation of the Sun.
