Arthur C. Clarke has died

Has science taken a wrong turn? If so, what corrections are needed? Chronicles of scientific misbehavior. The role of heretic-pioneers and forbidden questions in the sciences. Is peer review working? The perverse "consensus of leading scientists." Good public relations versus good science.

Arthur C. Clarke has died

Unread post by FS3 » Wed Mar 19, 2008 12:23 am

Arthur Charles Clarke, author of "2001-A Space Odyssey" has passed, only two days after his 90th birthday, in Colombo/Sri Lanka.

One of his quotes -"The truth, as always, will be far stranger." - could stand for the enduring efforts of this forum to bring more reality into Astronomy.

R.I.P., and give my regards to HAL, who is probably still dreaming of the "one-letter-plus" IBM

"It's full of stars!"
The illusion from which we are seeking to extricate ourselves is not that constituted by the realm of space and time, but that which comes from failing to know that realm from the standpoint of a higher vision. -L.H.
