Jellyfish "UFOs"? Looks electrical to me!
These are being labeled as UFOs by folks who believe they are some sort of alien craft. To me the first, second, and third photos look like some kind of electrical discharge phenomenon.
What do you think?

I agree, electrical.

The object is an "elf".

Albeit turned slightly sideways.
The object that is claimed to be a "hole punch" cloud isn't. A hole punch cloud looks exactly like the name implies: it looks like a hole punched through a cloud. They are caused by clear vortices which move down from above the cloud and suck the vapor out of the cloud, leaving a perfectly round hole in the cloud for a few moments. As the wind at the level of the cloud moves the cloud along, the hole becomes distorted and it eventually fills in.

First of all, why is this post in the Picture of the Day section?
Second, as a photographer, I can say that this is an internal lens flare -- particularly when you note the alignment of the Sun with the flare's axis.
The elf phenomenon looks nothing like this. They occur at over 100 kilometers altitude and extend for hundreds of kilometers. They last for a millisecond or less and are red, not green. They would never be in this configuration. From the photographer's vantage point, an elf would be viewed from below, not from the side.

have a look at this--one of the first officially filmed and documented ´´ufo´´ sightings --- by a norwegian university--they themselves suggest it may be a plasma phenomenon--it is the first 5 minutes or so of the clip
it is part of a documentary on ufo phenomenon. They were curious about persistent reports from locals that thise entities appeared very frequently. So they sent an team to observe and register.(´´conscious´´ plasma??)

anybody have knowledge of what this might be?

It is the TR-3B, black project plane. It does use plasma to lift.sunshine wrote:have a look at this--one of the first officially filmed and documented ´´ufo´´ sightings --- by a norwegian university--they themselves suggest it may be a plasma phenomenon--it is the first 5 minutes or so of the clip

Why is everything unidentified labelled a UFO. I would agree with the electrical discharge phenomena. Even if they were plasma lifeforms, it still doesn't make them UFOs. Very interesting sightings anyway.
