The Dead Sea

The Dead Sea

Anyone know if any research has been done at the bottom of the Dead Sea, or the region in general? Has any evidence been found for past cities or settlements?

Since the Dead Sea lies within the borders of Israel and Jordan there is political difficulty with getting permission to explore. Several anomalies have been seen under the Dead Sea but no confirmation of what they are has been forthcoming. Bob Ballard found evidence of civilization under the Black Sea and I have no doubt that similar evidence will be found in Yam Hamelak.
