Billy Yelverton and Jacob Gable - Electric Earth Experiments

Unread post by JP Michael » Sat Mar 21, 2020 10:51 am

I only came across these two names today, two names that should be listed among the empirical science heroes of the EU/PU models.

Billy Yelverton runs experiments on electric erosion/formation of terrestrial environments. He has some excellent videos on electrical cause of the Coriolis effect, including north-south polar reversal, cymatics, as well as erosion/formation of surface topography:

Magnetohydrodynamics - The Electric Coriolis Effect Part 1
This video demonstrates how electrical currents interacting with the earth's north and south polarities is the ultimate cause of high and low pressure systems in earth weather, including reverse system rotation in north vs. south poles. High pressure systems are regions of positive charge (anode). In the northern hemisphere, these flow clockwise. In the south, they are counter-clockwise. Low pressure systems are regions of negative charge (cathode). In the northern hemisphere these flow counter-clockwise. In the south, they are clockwise. The Coriolis effect has nothing to do with the spin of the earth on its axis. It has everything to do with the flow of electric current relative to positive-negative charge and the earth's magnetic field, north or south. The Coriolis effect seems to be identical to the Lorentz Force in Liquids.

Magnetohydrodynamics - The Electric Coriolis Effect Part 2
Same as above with detritus and a touch of iron oxide added for improved visibility.

Magnetohydrodynamics Part 3 - Side-on View
This video has the side-on view of part 2 above.

Raised Dendritic Ridges
This video demonstrates dendritic mountain patterns found worldwide as having a cause by a period of severe, constant tremors, aka earthquakes. (Mute video after first minute!!)

Thunderstorm on a Benchtop
70,000 volts pumped into a pond of salt water. The water follows the electricity into dendritic channels @1:17.

Jacob Gable, on the other hand, runs experiments that deal with EDM cratering in low-pressure vacuum environments. Amongst the myriad of excellent videos on his Youtube Channel are some that, to me, explain volcanism and cosmic jetting behaviours on planetary bodies (ie, they are the same phenomenon, the only difference is atmospheric pressure of the body). Jacob's experiments are let down only by his occasional amateur cinematography!

Crater Formation Compilation
This video features the best of Jacob's cratering experiments. All exhibit jetting plasma behaviours.

Volcanism
MUTE RECOMMENDED. This x8 slow motion demonstrates subterranean electrical activity. Although the currents prefer channels alongside the glass bottle (the silicon is a better conductor than the dirt), as the pressure in the vacuum chamber increases, the electrical channels begin to condense, rather than being filamentary. This an apt analogy of where volcanoes exist on Earth. They are locations where subterranean electrical current can snake its way and explode violently into the high-pressure atmosphere. In low pressure environments (compare with 11:30 in the video which progresses to high pressure by 16:00), like comets, the subterranean currents exhibit extensive branched filaments, the strongest of which all terminate in a 'cosmic jet'.

Volcanoes are the Earth's version of cosmic jets!!

Gosh, there are so many potential physics PhD theses in this stuff!
