Absolutely I agree, but there is a massive scale different between the two. It takes two opposing forces to create a vortex.
I think the fact that it was centered at the earthquakes epicenter off the east coast is what is interesting possibly outlining a focus of the quake itself and maybe presenting us with what has actually created the quake, prosaic explanations are great but what if the real explanation is starring us straight in the face??However, a prosaic explanation of the huge Japan earthquake whirlpool might be outgoing tsunami water meeting incoming the tide.
