NASA Pseudo-skeptic Receives Rebuttal from Don Scott
March 21, 2009 ~ by Dr. Donald E. Scott
Editor's note: On March 16 Dr. Donald E. Scott gave a presentation of electric universe concepts to a gathering at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, which appeared to be well-received by many of the attendees.
However there he met with pseudo-skeptic Dr. Tom Bridgman who had offered a "critique" of Scott's book The Electric Sky last year, and who, whilst 'personable' to Scott's face, has since written further pseudo-criticism of Scott's presentation. The following are a few excerpts from Scott's rebuttal of Bridgman's original "critique". [More...]

A very good rebuttal, but it is a pity that Scott has to waste his valuable time on the likes of Bridgman. The irony of pseudo skeptics, such as Bridgman, is that their philosophical underpinning is one of "faith," not the principles of scientific understanding. Bridgman's specialty is debunking creationism, but now he is in over his head, as Scott and his book The Electric Sky are not such an easy target. The Big Bang Theory which is so near and dear to Bridgman, is in itself a type of "creationism" and a new religion.
One can feel the indignation in their critiques, that a heretic (and not a member of the priesthood) would have the unmitigated gall to question the very foundation of their cherished beliefs. They are the priests who have such faith in the current paradigm (ie Big Bang, Gravity only, Black Hole, Dark Matter/Energy, et al.) to the point that they are blind to the real scientific revolution, which is in the process of proving them false.

Does he feel no unease that it was Georges Lemaître, a Roman Catholic priest, who was one of the inventors of his beloved Big Bang Myth? It is well known that one of the early general appeals of the BB was that it bridged the gap between 'science' and 'faith'. When the big bang theory was first heralded, Pope Pius XII wrote, “Scientists are beginning to find the finger of God in the creation of the universe.”
TB's hypocrisy is staggering. That also reminded me of George Smoot's famous words and COBE
"Our laws of force tend to be applied in the Newtonian sense in that for every action there is an equal reaction, and yet, in the real world, where many-body gravitational effects or electrodynamic actions prevail, we do not have every action paired with an equal reaction." — Harold Aspden

Maybe Don Scott can start a F.A.I.R.I.E. D.U.S.T. movement! A complete list of theories that somehow have become fact over the years. You know back in the Dark Ages it was the Church that crushed "free thinking" scientists. Today we find a lot of astronomers are doing the same thing in that they cannot think outside their little suffocating square! I am not a scientist just a keen astronomer amongst other things. But if you look with open eyes, (i.e. I do not have to beg for my funding), there are so many obvious signs for an electric universe. It would be interesting to look at the psychology as to why a scientist would rather stick to an a assumed theory rather than to observed facts!
